Artissima 2026

LOHAUS GALLERY has been selected for the Monologue/Dialogue section of Artissima 2026, presenting Melanie Siegel and Sarah Zagefka under the title ‘The Presence of Absence’. Both artists explore space as a carrier of memory and human presence, even when the human figure is absent.

Siegel’s carefully composed landscapes reveal the tension between nature and human intervention, balancing apparent calm with a subtle sense of unease. Zagefka’s interiors capture the traces of everyday activity, revealing the atmosphere and accumulated history of inhabited spaces. Bringing exterior and interior into dialogue, the presentation examines how people leave their mark on places and how these places shape perception, memory, and identity.
